Summary/Abstract: This analysis deal with the attitudes of the national minorities and the major national communities in Southeastern Serbia towards regionalism as well as the cross-border cooperation. The results reveal that these attitudes are different from the earlier ones, which means that they are more positive towards regionalism than they used to be. The importance of the cross-border cooperation between possible regions of the neighbouring countries seems to be greater than before. However, in terms of the social and living conditions, this analysis shows that the interviewees do not have the adequate access to their new position in the social system. They, even more, consider the state to be an irreplaceable institution, the purpose of which is to satisfy their citizens’ needs.
