Summary/Abstract: The article is a reflection on the necessary and non-necessary changes in special education: changes due to a changing entity interactions inside and outside special education, and other contexts of life of people with disabilities. In postmodernity, the responsibility for their own fate was handed to individuals and the old mechanisms of social integration and allocation declined in importance. It is new challenges for special education in its theoretical, empirical and practical areas that force you to reflect on the promotion of the development and functioning of individuals with disabilities in the new social reality.
