An Assessment of the Turkey-EU Seminar

Summary/Abstract: During the past three days we were together at the Seminar organized on the occasion of the 30 th anniversary of the Turkish Foreign Policy Institute, we had ample opportunity to tackle the many issues on the way to Turkish accession to the EU and also to be informed on how Turkey perceives the many problems in its neighbourhood. While it was indicated that Turkey was not completely happy with the Commission Report, it was also pointed out that it was found satisfactory for the decision to start accession negotiations with the EU. Acknowledgement of progress made by Turkey to meet the Copenhagen criteria is crucial to take that decision.
