Summary/Abstract: Turkey has pursued its foreign policy since the establishment of the Republic in line with Atatürk's dictum “Peace at Home, Peace in the World.” 2008 has also witnessed advancement of the principle of “no problems with neighbors for Turkey.” Within the proximity of its historic geography it has increased contacts, increased its trade and has developed relations to the benefit of the region which still suffers from instability and insecurity.
