Summary/Abstract: Regardless of the scale of force that requires support and the size of its area of responsibility, uniform movement, the effective and appropriate flow of personnel, weapons, ammunition and military equipment within the theater of operations, is a key element for the success of the mission. Transport resources rarely will have enough capacity to meet all the requirements that arise, so it is essential to provide detailed control over the resources available to ensure conditions for movement of personnel and equipment quickly where they needed, in a timely manner and in a state of readiness essential for the mission. Knowledge of the factors influencing the control of movement and establishment of policies and procedures for support of the movement and transport is a prerequisite for achieving this goal.
