Evaluating the State of Conservation of Some Iconostases in Iasi

Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the most important aspects of the state of preservation of some iconostases in Iasi. The churches have no proper environment for preserving the cultural goods and there are no means of preventing their degradation especially in the case of natural disasters. An important aspect in preserving the iconostases in the city is preventing their forgery by modifying their form and aspect, by repainting them, covering them with golden paint and making additions that do not match the style of the original work.
