Summary/Abstract: Poland’s accession to the European Union became an important event in the development of the domestic agri-food sector. Among others, special attention should be paid to the changes in Polish international trade in the analysed area. They are connected mainly with the strong creation of exchange with the European Union member states and moderately rising trade with third countries. The significant growth in exports to Russia since 2009 is also noteworthy. The chance for their development lies in lower crops harvested there in 2010. Adjustments to the geographical structure, based on strengthening the exchange with the European Union countries and in the commodity structure are other changes in Polish food trade. The latter one concerns the increase in the production and sale of processed goods.
