Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the situation of Roma community in Poland. The Romani people, both in Poland and other EU member states, have the full civil and ethnic minority rights, but are disadvantaged compared to the rest of society. The author discusses their legal position, distinctive culture, social and living conditions and efforts of public institutions aimed at improving the situation of Roma minority.
