Repatriation policy in Poland – its legal framework, assessment and proposals for revision.

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to introduce the legal framework of Polish repatriation policy and evaluate the national repatriation program. The first section of the paper reviews Polish repatriation law, with main focus on the Repatriation Act. Next, the author presents the outcomes of the repatriation program (mainly the issues related to social adaptation and financial assistance), its main obstacles and drawbacks. In the final section the proposals for revision of repatriation policy (legislative initiatives and experts’ proposals) are discussed.
