Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the peculiarities of strategic models and emphasizes the most appropriate strategic model for tourism by A. Poon. This model includes 4 basic principles in the process of the formation of the tourism activity strategy. Further, the Lithuania’s tourism strategy formation at various levels is presented (state level, regional level, and institutional level). In order to ensure the efficient Lithuania’s tourism strategy formation at various levels and their coordination, it is important to use the suggested tourism strategy formation model as well as the control scheme.
