Summary/Abstract: Lifelong learning gives an opportunity for an adult to study and acquire knowledge and professional competences necessary for his/her working activities or self-actualization. Therefore, lifelong learning is becoming an important issue in society. As lifelong learning has become more popular, educational institutions adapt to students’ needs to continue their studies. These institutions combining students’ practical skills with effective training methods have to ensure high level results. The problem of applying unsuitable teaching methods in tourism specialist training or a limited number of these methods arises. A variety of training methods and a suitable choice of these methods in order to acquire necessary professional competences and achieve good results may be used in the learning/training process. This situation shows urgency of the article. Emphasising tourism specialist training we can claim that choosing and applying training methods is quite a new field of research not only conceptually but also empirically. Therefore, urgency of these methods’ application in tourism specialist training is innovative. The object of the research is coaching methods. The aim of the research is to reveal the peculiarities of coaching methods in tourism specialist training. The objectives are to overview the characteristics of coaching methods and to generalize the peculiarities of the chosen coaching methods applicable in tourism specialist training. Research methods are scientific literature analysis, generalization, systemising, and comparison.
