Medical Crisis - Faith Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The Romanian healthcare system is, more and more often, the protagonist of excessive media cov-erage on TV screens and in the newspapers. The leitmotif of these media campaigns is represented by the patient who is increasingly dissatisfi ed with the healthcare system, although it is said that the funds allocated to these resources are increasing. Perhaps the fi nancial responsibility should be, from now on, divided between the central authority, the local authority and the hospitals, while the lack of sustainable funding, the faulty implementa-tion of the accreditation criteria, the absence of medical practice guidelines and protocols and, not least, the imprecise delimitation of the private and the public sectors are aspects to be considered, discussed and then legislated.
