The influence of “invest-park” – Wałbrzych special economic zone on public finance sector

Summary/Abstract: The influence of special economic zones on public finance system can be perceived both in terms of the benefits it brings as well as drawbacks resulting from depleting the system’s revenue. The assessment of the zone’s activity requires comparing data provided by The Ministry of Economy, The Ministry of Finance, The Office of Fair Trading as well as by the relevant Municipal Councils and Community Offices. It also requires conducting research among the entrepreneurs running their businesses in a particular zone. While doing so, it is vital to make certain assumptions. The aim of the article is to present the assessment of benefits and costs for the public finance system, which resulted from the functioning of Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone between the years 1998 and 2008.
