Summary/Abstract: This systematic review aimed to test the effectiveness of CBT on individuals with adult ADHD. A total of 12 studies were used for this purpose. The reviews showed that CBT is an effective method in the treatment of ADHD, and most studies showed that it not only treats ADHD but also has positive effects on executive functions, depression, and anxiety levels. Furthermore, most studies showed that combining medication with CBT was more effective than medication alone. This suggests that CBT is a suitable psychotherapy in addition to pharmacological treatment, although some studies also show that CBT alone can be effective. This indicates that it is a suitable alternative treatment method for individuals who do not want to receive medication. Due to the lack of randomized controlled trials in this field in Turkey, this study utilized foreign sources. While more studies are needed in Turkey in the future to test the effects of CBT within our own culture, testing its long-term effects is also necessary to better understand its impact on ADHD.
