Summary/Abstract: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder characterized by involuntary thoughts and repetitive behaviors performed to reduce the anxiety caused by these thoughts. This disorder, which can start at an early age and becomes chronic when left untreated, significantly reduces the quality of life and functionality of the individual. Despite the prevalence of OCD, individuals start seeking treatment too late, which can lead to further aggravation of symptoms. At this point, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an effective therapy method, aims to reduce symptoms by restructuring the individual's thought processes and changing dysfunctional behavior patterns. CBT is a scientifically validated and widely used method in the treatment of OCD. This study is a review of the basic principles, application processes and effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder
