Summary/Abstract: In this work, we provide an overview of the scientific interests of Bulgarian anthropology, ethnology and folklore studies in recent decades, particularly with regards to research on Bulgarian communities in Central Europe—Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Poland. The results of several published research works are summarized and presented. The text aims to formulate the set of typological characteristics that define the Bulgarian emigrant in Central Europe.
