Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to verify whether the textbook Niko 1 can be regarded as a valuable resource contributing to the development of intercultural competence during German language classes taught as a minority language. Selected content is analysed in order to present how cultural themes and instructions can raise cultural awareness and prod to reflection upon cultural diversity.
