Summary/Abstract: "The article discusses the benefits of using short films in a foreign language lesson. The text focuses on the advantages of advertising as a genre that can refer to both well-known motifs of popular culture, as well as aspects that require knowledge of specific norms and values ofa given culture. The author tries to prove that advertising can serve as a stimulus for discussion, fostering the development of intercultural communication competence. Based on the collected examples, its importance as a testimony to social and cultural changes is also emphasized."
