Summary/Abstract: Maria Józefa née Wessel married prince Konstanty Sobieski, which gained her entrance to the elite of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Her position strengthened thanks to the support she received from Augustus II when Sobieski tried to annul the marriage. She was considered a wealthy and enterprising person. She invested in the estate of Anna Katarzyna Radziwiłł née Sanguszko, in-law of the Sobieski family. The two women were bound by their interests for many years, as evidenced by the princess's letters. In her correspondence with Radziwiłł, Sobieska tried to present herself as a relative, a friend, but above all a business partner.
