SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES IN THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PERCEPTION OF POLES AND UKRAINIANS

Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the social and cultural similarities between Poles and Ukrainians. In the conducted analysis, the Authors address issues of historical, political, social, and cultural nature. The question of social and cultural similarities between the two neighboring nations is all the more significant because, as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the two nations have drawn closer politically and socially, and Ukrainians coming to Poland first as economic migrants and later as refugees have become an integral part of the landscape of Polish cities. Therefore, the Authors also address social and welfare issues, which are perceived in a completely different way by Poles and Ukrainians.
