Summary/Abstract: This research falls within the field of foreign language didactics and focuses on the integration of animation as an audiovisual support in the teaching and learning of French as a Foreign Language (FFL). The main objective is to analyze the effect of this multimodal device on the construction of linguistic and referential knowledge among fifth-grade learners. The adopted methodology is based on an experiment conducted with two groups: a control group (G1), which worked on a descriptive text related to the description of a cat, and an experimental group (G2), which benefited from viewing an animation in the classroom context. The analysis and interpretation of the collected data highlight the contribution of animation as a didactic mediation tool that fosters motivation, comprehension, and appropriation of the target language.
