Summary/Abstract: This experimental research carried out in didactics of French as a foreign language, focuses on the impact of linguistic knowledge and/or referential knowledge on written production. We wonder about the effect of these two types of knowledge, in two study populations, on the written production as well as on the revision of an explanatory text. We assume that, unlike linguistic knowledge, referential knowledge could lead participants to produce a quality explanatory text from the point of view of its semantic content. Two groups of students enrolled at the University of Mascara (Algeria) participated in this research: (G1) students in French M1, and (G2) students in M1 law. The groups produced two reminders: Reminder (R1), and Reminder (R2) in order to confirm or refute the hypotheses of this experimental research.
