Summary/Abstract: The Small Nisovo Rock Monastery is situated in the Monastery gorge along the Mali Lom River, the last tributary of the Beli Lom River. Its premises are storeyed from the very bedrock to the highest part of the rocks. It had two sanctuaries and many cells, as well as some additional rooms. The principal church is situated high in the massif. Part of it protruded from the rock face and thus stood out above the river valley. It consists of a narthex and a nave, in which perfectly shaped apse, altar table and prosthesis are carved. The Christian abode is located near the Big Nisovo Monastery. This gives reason to assume that the so-called Small Nisovo Monastery was a separate part of one of the largest cave monasteries in Lomovete.
