Summary/Abstract: The digitalization of public administration constitutes a key element of modern governance in the public sector. It directly affects the efficiency of resource management and the optimization of institutional operating costs. Modern technologies have the potential to enhance the productivity of public offices by reducing procedures, improving the quality of services provided to citizens and rationalizing public expenditure. From an economic perspective, digitalization supports more transparent and results-oriented public administration management. Additionally, it enables better monitoring and analysis of data, which translates into more accurate strategic decision-making. The transition to electronic forms of communication also helps reduce bureaucracy and improve access to public services. Nevertheless, this process faces a number of barriers, such as financial constraints, a lack of human resources with appropriate competencies, digital exclusion, inconsistencies in legal frameworks, and cybersecurity risks. It is also relevant that technological changes often encounter organizational resistance stemming from attachment to traditional work models and insufficient managerial support for digital transformation. The main objective of this study is to identify the key barriers hindering the digitalization of public administration in Poland from the perspective of economic sciences. A multidimensional approach to the issue and the formulation of recommendations for public policy are essential.
