Summary/Abstract: Environmental protection and combating climate change are currently one of the key trends in the international public debate in the world. International organizations began their activity in this area in the second half of the 20th century, initiating various types of conventions and multilateral agreements. At present, it seems that individual states should also include the issues of climate and environmental protection in their basic laws. The article presents these issues in the context of a constitutional challenge. Is it worth including environmental and climate protection in the constitution? Definitely yes. These are social expectations. This is the need of the times when climate warming and environmental problems negatively affect the lives of entire populations and the functioning of the economy. However, constitutional provisions may be insufficient in the fight for a better climate and a clean environment.
