Short Description

The attempt of the initiators of the periodical of the Department of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University under the ambiguous title „Politeja”, referring to both cultural and political aspect, has been to create a forum where the relation from the debate taking place would be followed by an attempt to present its full meaning for the forming, new, dynamically changing reality: the reality which requires a constant reflection on the traditional categories and methods used in social studies and the complex subject of international, political and cultural relations, which increase the importance of phenomena as complex as globalisation or inculturalisation. The periodical is issued by the Department of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University, which has gathered a set of scientists wonderfully prepared for taking upon such a reflection; it seems that in this very unit of the Jagiellonian University this reflection has found a forum perfectly prepared for an in-depth and thorough analysis of the phenomena presently significant in both cultural and political sphere, as it has joined two already long existing units with ones newly created, albeit in both cases with experienced researchers able to regard the same phenomena form different perspectives. Up to 2013 the journal has been published twice per year. From 2014 the frequency has changed to quarterly publication.
