Summary/Abstract: After ottoman rule establishment in Çamëria the regions of Ajdonat (Paramithia – F.D.) and Mazrak (Mazarak, Mazrek) were included in the jurisdiction of Ioannina sanjak. Administratively they formed two homonymous kazas, which were included in the composition of the new sanjak of Delvinë around the middle of the 16th century (1550-1551). The sanjak in question was newly created by the union of southwestern lands of Albania, which were detached respectively from sanjak of Ioannina and Vlorë. As it seems, immediately after these change of an administrative nature, the ottoman state made the detailed registration of 1551 in sanjak of Delvinë. In this framework, Çamëria dwelling places in kaza of ajdonat and Nahije of Mazrak under the above kaza, were also registered. Over 30 years later sanjak of Delvinë underwent a new registration, which is reflected in the ottoman detailed register of 1583 (hicri year 991). The only changes regarding the status of the two administrative units in questions are related to the fact that Kaza of Ajdonat now is called nahije, whereas nahije of Mazrak now exists as an independent unit from the above kaza. The evident changes that characterized Çamëria space during the 16th century caused a new dynamic in the demographic situation of dwelling places in this region. Among others, this phenomenon found expression also in the population mobility with the accentuated direction towards urban centers or most developed villages. Whereas in 1551 such a phenomenon is seen to be still vague, in 1583 it is powerfully outstanding in the demographic panorama of this region. A considerable number of incoming inhabitants is observed at this time especially in the city of Ajdonat.
