Summary/Abstract: This article presents a linguodidactic analysis of the way the editing procedure is included and presented in the alternative Bulgarian language textbooks for Grades 3 and 4. The research focuses on the correlation between the goals of Bulgarian language education and the content, analyzing the theoretical frameworks for editing, the place of exercises in the textbooks, and their correlation with the theory. Editing is part of the communicative competences in the curriculum for 3rd and 4th grade. A total of six alternative textbooks (V1 to V6) from different authoring teams and publishers are analyzed, comparing the lesson articles that present editing.
