Summary/Abstract: The article reveals the pedagogical potential of folklore, which in each historical epoch reflected the specifics of worldview, moral and aesthetic ideas, artistic thinking of each ethnic group or ethnic group; generalized information from ethnographic, archeological and various written sources, as well as the most important historiographical concepts that reveal the issues of ethnogenesis and ethnocultural history of the Ukrainian people. Nowadays, the modern concept of pedagogy of music art is largely based on the broad involvement of folk song heritage, which should be widely used in the training of music-pedagogical and creative staff, and in the system of general music education. Every nation, every nation, even every social group has its own traditions, customs, rites and holidays, the formation of which has taken place over the centuries. Ritual and customary sphere – these are the signs and characteristics by which the people are recognized not only in the present but also in its historical past. After all, it covers all areas of personal and social life of the individual. Festive heritage, as well as language, are the strongest elements that unite and cement individuals into one nation, one nation, one family. The people are based on ancestral traditions, customs, symbols, beliefs. And only by studying and knowing these traditions, we will be able to pass on the cultural heritage of our people, acquired by centuries, descendants. The Ukrainian people have many beautiful and interesting traditions and customs.High morality of ancestors, mutual assistance, and most importantly, the highly poetic cult of ancestors, respect for their pedigree – all this is worthy of imitation by current generations. Ethnocultural essays dedicated to the traditional life of Ukrainians in the XIX – first half of the XX century, are about holidays and weekdays, customs and rituals, beliefs and symbols and much more. Together with eyewitness accounts, generalizations of researchers and little-known illustrative material from archives and painting workshops, all this forms a kind of mosaic panorama of the people’s worldview.
