Summary/Abstract: The article provides a theoretical analysis of the problem of the educational influence of folk music on the formation of the value attitude of teenagers of the PRC to ethnic and family traditions, outlines the inexhaustible potential of the spiritual growth of teenagers through folk music, which has special opportunities for communication and promotion of self-awareness of the national identity of the individual, the formation of his worldview. The importance of musical folklore as a cultural heritage and at the same time modern folk art as an important source for studying the philosophy, history and art of the people is proven. The study of folklore is necessary for understanding the folk spirit as the basis of ancient culture. Without knowledge of the history and customs of the people, without involving young people in folk art, it is impossible to educate worthy citizens of their homeland (Ukraine and the PRC). Folk art occupies an important place among the values of the national culture of these countries. In accordance with the current state standards of secondary education and typical curricula of secondary education institutions, the purpose of teaching folk music is to form cultural values in the process of learning art and artistic self-expression, to cultivate respect for national and world artistic heritage. The article is devoted to the problem of increasing the role of folk songs in the content of general music education. This problem is relevant not only for Ukraine, but also in China. It is connected with the tasks of modern state educational and cultural policy of these countries, aimed at educating the younger generations in their own national-cultural and spiritual-moral values, in particular, a value attitude towards ethnic-family traditions. The article reveals some aspects of the history and artistic originality of Chinese folk songs, and considers the educational requirements for their mastery by schoolchildren. It was found that in general education schools in China there are significantly fewer samples of folk music than Western European and modern Chinese. From this, the conclusion is drawn about the need to develop and scientifically substantiate pedagogical conditions for increasing the role of folk musical creativity in the content of general musical education, folk musical art should become a priority direction of the artistic and pedagogical space of a modern school.
