Summary/Abstract: In recent years, concerns about global climate evolution have intensified, as reflected in the widespread use of the terms “climate change” and “global warming.” This attention has been driven by the occurrence of extreme weather phenomena such as tropical cyclones, storms, heavy rainfall and floods, droughts, as well as the melting of glaciers, insufficient snowfall in mountainous areas, unexpected snowfall in atypical locations, and changes in seasonal characteristics (the transition between seasons, their duration, and the specific phenomena associated with each season). This study primarily analyses several archival documents containing information about meteorological events that took place in various localities of Bistrița-Năsăud County, from the early 19th century to the early 21st century. The aim is to track the evolution of these phenomena over time and correlate them with current climate changes. The purpose of this approach is both cultural-educational, related to the nature of bibliographic sources, the way meteorological events are reported, and the information they provide, as well as scientific, focusing on the possibility of monitoring local and regional meteorological-climatic trends over this period.
