Summary/Abstract: The study examines the issue of Kurdistan as a geopolitical project and its impact on the national security of the Republic of Bulgaria. The analysis highlights the historical, ethnic and geopolitical aspects of the region, as well as the strategic interests of various international powers, as well as the main risks that are identified for the Republic of Bulgaria. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a careful and balanced approach to this issue in order to avoid undesirable effects.
