Summary/Abstract: The increased degree of interdependence among economies of particular states possesses the threat of transmission of negative effects of economic crisis. In the article the author presents the way the world financial crisis (which started in the USA) affected the Polish economy. The variables describing the Polish economy mainly involved: the increase in GDP, public finance sector debt in the view of solutions proposed by the Maastricht Treaty, as well as interest rate on the deposit and unemployment rate. Multivariate analysis was conducted in the years 2000−2012. Against the background of collected empirical data, Poland could be ranked quite satisfactorily, due to the stability of banking sector, as well as restrictive monetary and budget policy of the country.
