Competency-based and systemic approach to building a pedagogical system for music education for children with special educational needs

Summary/Abstract: Based on personal professional experience as a musical pedagogue, teaching children with special educational needs (SEN) and on two studies related to this training, the author offers a synthesized description of the constructed and tested by him, pedagogical system for music education of children with SEN, emphasizing the argumentation for applying a competent and systemic approach to its construction, with educational and therapeutic goals and exerting a positive impact on the emotional state of children with the possibilities of folk children’s songs accompanied by folk instruments.
