Crime of aggression in the ICC Statute

Summary/Abstract: In order to present the contemporary work ofthe United Nations (UN), which decided to establish theInternational Criminal Court (ICC), the work takes intoaccount the activities of the UN Security Council (UNSC)and the ICC, taking into account current considerations andsolutions adopted in the law. The fact that the ICC Statuteincludes a definition of the crime of aggression is also tak-en into account. The issues of the object, subject, subjectiveand objective side are considered. The fact that the UN alsodraws attention to the issues of peace, security and globaljustice is taken into account. This article considers in par-ticular the need to enforce responsibility for the crime ofaggression, although the UNSC should deal with this matterfirst. In conclusion, one can recognize the existing impotenceof states in the activities of the SC in its current composition.
