Summary/Abstract: The Czech Republic is notorious for small-scale metamphetamine production. In 2019, 145 of 234 secured metamphetamine laboratories were small-scale metamphetamine laboratories, expressed as a percentage: 61,9 %. In 2020, which was affected by COVID-19, this share even increased to 66 %. Production of almost two thirds secured metamphetamine laboratories supplies exclusively domestic market, where it supplies small communities of drug-addicted people with this drug. Their production potential does not excess 50 g of metamphetamine per 1 production cycle, which represents relatively small output, on the other hand the consequences of small-scale methamphetamine production might be extremely devastating. This paper analyses explosions of small-scale metamphetamine laboratories from the perspective of Czech criminal law and adds six de lege ferenda suggestions on how to minimize this negative phenomenon.
