Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the representation of nature in the lyrics of two Lithuanian poets the same period (1918-1940). The interpretation two poems with simillar situation of enunciation („In the Night of Autumn“ by Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas and „The Night of August“ by Jonas Aistis) reveals two different structures of conciuosness. The poem of Putinas represents the romantic one: the nature is treated as a mirror of subject‘s inner life. In the poem of Aistis nature already has it‘s own value which is independent of human life. But there are some traces of romantic conception of nature too.
