Summary/Abstract: The folklore song is part of the Bulgarian identity. It is the most valuable asset of the people and is expressing their soulfulness. Having gone through different epochs, it suffers side effects, which lead to a change in some of its specific features. Today, there are some factors that contribute to this change. The main goal for performers, composers, and their followers is to preserve the main features of the folklore song and performance that distinguish Bulgaria across the globe.
