Summary/Abstract: The area of criminal science that deals primarily with the memory trace is criminalistic tactics, in which the author inserts one of the contemporary police activities, namely the procedure which, after the necessary definition, he calls the method of contemporary criminalistic practice, the method of "Financial Investigation", which is increasingly finding its justification in police practice. It is desirable to disseminate its definition in the theoretical part of the science, with optimal, exact verified procedures leading to its successful application, i.e. the creation of a property profile of the offender and his surroundings, the extraction of proceeds of crime, instruments of crime or surrogate values, and thus contribute to the fulfillment of the purpose of the criminal proceedings. The author of the article presents a fundamental insight into the method, with an emphasis on the field of operational search activities carried out by the Criminal Police and Investigation Service of the Police of the Czech Republic.
