Summary/Abstract: It is not necessary to explain that teaching language and literature in primary and secondary schools deserves a special status and that therefore the role of a teacher is quite specific. In teaching grammar and language, the teacher is limited by established set of rules and norms, while in the interpretation of literary texts there is a much wider field of his freedom. However, the teacher in both cases has to be aware of his responsibilities and should choose the methods that will enable him realization of pedagogical and educational objectives of teaching. This work is an example of a methodical approach to the lyrical descriptive poem ‘’A winter morning’’ by Vojislav Ilic. It indicates those elements that can be stronghold points in the analysis of the poem as well as the facts for a relationship between the lyric and students. From piece one can find out something about poet, content, meaning and characteristics of his poem.
