Summary/Abstract: The chosen topic analyses aspects related to social services, seen as means of protecting children's rights and also describes the right of alternative child protection. I have chosen to debate this subject, because children's rights are as important as adult rights, and knowing/applying these rights through various social services, helps to defend children from possible abuse. In the first part of my presentation, I wanted to capture, in a general way, the rights of the child. In part two of this presentation, I have addressed the subject of the right to alternative child protection, also presenting the social services which help to respect this right (day care services, family type services and residential services). In addition, I also wrote about a case study regarding Oradea Day care center.
