Summary/Abstract: By its definition, adolescence is a complex stage, marked by mental and physical transformations influenced by multiple social forces (family, school, friends, culture). During this period, adolescents are in a transition between childhood and adulthood, oscillating between the need for independence and the need for guidance. A key aspect in their formation is their relationship with local public administration, which, as the most accessible form of government for the average citizen, plays an important role in their daily lives. In the current social context, the support given to adolescents by local authorities can positively influence their trust in public institutions. Through this brief review of the relevant theorizing in the field, we explore how the social influences to which adolescents are exposed contribute to shaping their perceptions of local public administration, with a focus on the importance of building trust and active involvement in the community. In this way, trust and appropriate support can positively influence young people's civic involvement in the life of their community.
