Summary/Abstract: Due to the dismissal from service of a Border Guard officer, he/she becomes en-titled to the related receivables. This is one of the elements related to the ad-ministrative and legal service relationship, which is the basis for appointingan officer to service. The legislator made the payment of dues related to dis-missal dependent on the reason for termination of the service relationship,which means that the obligation to pay dues is determined by the legal ba-sis for dismissing an officer from service. The purpose of paying these bene-fits is to make it easier for the officer to start functioning after being on duty.At the same time, the appropriate amount of remuneration of a Border Guardofficer must adequately compensate for the effort, limitations and sacrifices as-sociated with serving in this formation. The legislator provided for the follow-ing benefits related to dismissal: severance pay, compensation for unused hol-iday leave, monetary compensation for excessive service time, reimbursementof travel costs to the chosen place of residence, lump-sum cash equivalent fortravel unused in a given year and additional cash benefits.The main purpose of this work is to assess the applicable legal regulations re-garding liabilities related to the termination of the service relationship of a Bor-der Guard officer. Undoubtedly, these receivables have a positive impact bothon potential candidates for service and on the officers’ continued service.The choice of the analyzed research problem should be properly justified, henceit was decided to formulate the main research problem in the form of a ques-tion: Do the receivables related to the dismissal from service of a Border Guardofficer adequately compensate for the hardships of the service performed?In connection with the above, a research hypothesis was formulated, assum-ing that: The provisions contained in the Border Guard Act regarding receiva-bles related to the dismissal of a Border Guard officer from service adequatelycompensate for the hardships of the service.An element necessary to achieve an appropriate scientific goal is to establishan appropriate research method. The formal and dogmatic method was of pri-mary importance, enriched in some places with the theoretical and legal meth-od. An important element of the work was the analysis of case law. The judg-ments of the Supreme Administrative Court and provincial administrative courtswere analyzed. The research methods adopted made it possible to achievethe goals of the work set by the author.
