Short Description
PROGRESS is a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually by the University of Gdańsk in open access format. All articles are made available electronically, free of charge and without technical barriers, in accordance with the principle of unrestricted access to scientific research results.
Progress is an interdisciplinary academic journal that provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and the presentation of research in the broadly defined fields of social sciences and humanities, as well as selected areas of law and economics. The journal focuses on the analysis of contemporary social, cultural, political, educational, and legal phenomena, as well as reflection on the values, institutions, and processes shaping public life.
The mission of the journal is to promote research that combines theoretical reflection with the analysis of practical applications of knowledge. Special emphasis is placed on publications that cross disciplinary boundaries, offer new perspectives to current academic debates, and respond to contemporary social, cultural, and political challenges.
Progress particularly welcomes contributions on:
transformative, critical, and interdisciplinary education,
social justice, equality, inclusion, and human rights,
sustainable development, social and environmental responsibility, mental health, and wellbeing,
the relationship between technology (including artificial intelligence), science, communication, and society,
culture, identity, memory, and heritage—both in local and global contexts, including postcolonial and European perspectives,
innovative forms of narration and pedagogy, including the use of art, media, literature, and games.
The editorial board seeks to publish original and innovative work based on rigorous empirical research or creative theoretical inquiry. The journal welcomes contributions from scholars at all career stages and from both domestic and international academic institutions. Articles are published in Polish or English.
The primary form of publication is original research articles. In justified cases, the journal also accepts reviews, conference reports, memoirs, and scholarly interviews.
