Summary/Abstract: The modern Bulgarian musicology formulates that the decades after the Second World War holds a critical and essential importance for the development of the national music culture. During this time of political polarity and living behind the “Iron Curtain“ - the composers - Lazar Nikolov and Konstantin Iliev experience countless of hardships creating and solidifying the Bulgarian musical avant-garde, as we know it today. Giving freedom to his meticulous nature, Lazar Nikolov lays the foundation and solidifies through countless experiments a new form of creative aesthetics, unknown to the then contemporary Bulgarian musical society.
