Summary/Abstract: Since the 19th century, the importance of folk poets supporting and spreading the state ideology has been realized. It is known that the coffeehouses where the minstrels grew up in the Tavuk Pazarı region during and after the II. Mahmut period were under the control of the government. When it comes to the Republican period, the traces of the tradition of getting the ideological support of the minstrels continue. The close relationship that Âşık Veysel established with the Village Institutes in his highly productive years was reflected in his poetry and enabled his poetry to open up to scientific developments, current ideological discourses and a new citizen model. In this context, we see Aşık Veysel addressing the citizens in many of his poems. In this study, it has been investigated to what extent the doctrine, criticism, and the hopes and worries that are the result of all these in Âşık Veysel’s poem are compatible with the events and policies of the period. The research is based on the comparison of Âşık Veysel’s poetry texts with the politics of the period. 1548şırı1548is comparison, historical data such as scientific studies on the politics of the period, newspaper advertisements of the mentioned period and press statements of politicians were used. As a result of the comparative analysis, it has been seen that orientations such as the teaching of industriousness towards the citizen, encouragement to farming and industry, following and receiving the scientific development in Europe, increasing the education rate, and the teaching of savings have traces of the policies of the period.
