Summary/Abstract: Pain is a hard experience people can go through. It almost always accompanies our biological and mental destruction. An independent research was done using the McGill Pain Questionnaire developed by Melzack, 1975. The respondents‘ experiences were assessed using ‚Pain Intensity‘ and ‚Pain Rating. Index‘. Their pain was measured on three scales: sensory, affective and evaluative aspects. The Pain Discomfort Scale by Jensen, Karoly, & Harris, from 1991, was used to evaluate their emotional responses. The results are summarized in a table and analyzed for men and women separately. Several pain behaviors are summarized. Helpful pain coping skills are analyzed: adopting an appropriate attitude, finding distractions, self-talk, maintaining a sense of humor.
