Summary/Abstract: The testimonial role of the literature in the development of language, just as well as in the propagation of the national idea, is well known. Among the numerous examples we have chosen two authors, Ndoc Nikaj and Ernest Koliqi, who combine the writing in function of the national idea, in function of language elaboration, as well as the artistic style. Writing “romanxa”, when this literary genre did not exist in Albania, unite the desire to write Albanian language, circulating only as a spoken language in that time, and the creation of a new literary genre. Also Nikaj took active part in the organization of the armed insurrections at the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1931 Koliqi formulates and announces “The Mission of Young Albanian Writers” in a public lecture, published in “LEKA” magazine. According to him, literature is the most faithful mirror of the human and nation's soul; it makes diagnosis, analyzes vices and virtues, helps to eliminate the first and strengthens the second one. Nikaj passed away 87-year-old in the prison, where he passed the last five years of her life, living the last chapter of an infinite novel, much more interesting and more painful than all of her novel creations. Koliqi experiences the death as a creator in his homeland when he is still alive. In the communist period he became an example of traitorous and reactionary writer, he lived the punishment, the prohibition and the forgetting of his work from the common reader.
