Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the perceived quality of teaching performed at an institution of higher learning and the identification of factors exerting significant influ-ence on the students' opinions. An analysis of students' correspondence was used to create a detailed description of the relation between the quality perceived by the students and the quality determinants of teaching. Students' opinions obtained through a questionnaire study became the source of information upon which the analysis was based. Some of the questions were formulated in accordance with the 5 step scale developed by Likert. The analysis was performed within R environment using predefined units of measure because of the ordinal character of the variables. The data gathered was analyzed using a script developed by the authors and created within R environment.
