Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present, through the example integrating a selected workby Karel Čapek, journalistic functional style and sentence syntax, a model of integrated linguistic, compositional and literary education at grammar (secondary) school, in which different components of the Czech Language and Literature school subject are blended together to enable the learners to approach the text naturally and holistically as a structure intended for didactic transformation and literary interpretation. The integration of linguistic and literary curriculum is often ignored in the didactics of Czech Language and Literature, although it could build on the rich heritage of Prague structuralism, as is the case of both this study and the innovative integrated didactics developed by Ľudmila Liptáková with her team from the Prešov’s Slovak studies department.
